Funding Confirmed for Autism, Aspergers and ADHD Training

Vale Judo has received external funding from the NHS LCR Trust to train it’s coaches, instructors and volunteers on two nationally accredited courses. The first course deals with Autism & Asperger Syndrome; this will be delivered by The National Autistic Society (NAS) and the second course deals with ADHD and will be delivered by ADHD Solutions. Both courses will offer great depth into the understanding of these conditions while equipping Vale Judo with the tools to manage and implement strategies of care.  Training dates will be posted on the website when they have been agreed with course providers and both courses will be held at Vale Judo Club. Updates will be posted on a regular basis.

Leicestershire & Rutland County Squad Training Sessions

Below are the 2010 dates for the BJA Leicestershire & Rutland County Squad training sessions. All training sessions will take place at the Vale Judo dojo and will soon be displayed on the BJA Calendar of Events.  Squad sessions will cost £3 per participant (junior and senior) and all funds will be used to subsidize the costs of squad participation in competitions.  All members will be required to have full and current junior or senior BJA licence (or a licence from an affiliated association).

Junior Sessions (Saturdays 2:00pm-3:30pm – aged 8+/ 1st mon and above are invited to attend)

  • Saturday 4th September 2010
  • Saturday 16th October 2010
  • Saturday 20th November 2010
  • Saturday 4th December 2010

Senior Randori Sessions (Fridays 8:00pm-9:30pm – juniors aged 14+/55kg plus are invited to attend)

  • Friday 3rd September 2010
  • Friday 15th September 2010
  • Friday 19th November 2010
  • Friday 3rd December 2010

Next year (2011), we will be looking to enter Leicestershire & Rutland judoka into individual and team events in the UK and abroad.  Please be aware that attendance at a large proportion of relevant training sessions will be a pre-requisite for judoka being invited to join the squad entering relevant events.  Funding is now in the process of being sought to subsidize costs associated with entering and participating in these events as well as funding sessions to be run by guest “superstar” coaches.
